Module 4: The Language we use...and why you should care

The objective of this lesson is to help you analyze the language you use to talk to yourself and others. This module will act as an analysis of our common and internal discourse.

The Words Matter Movement maintains that words are powerful and entails the practice of careful, thoughtful, and deliberately positive communication.

What this means to YOU

Words inform language and language informs behavior. Language and communication act as an outlet that has the power to connect all people. Language helps us understand, comprehend, and grow alongside one another. Words are powerful, which means that YOU have been granted the ability to contribute meaningful

Words are magic. If one word has the ability to make someone's day, then it can be assumed that the opposite is also true. Hopes and dreams can be built and destroyed In truth, language has been scrutinized from all angles and for centuries as it has been the backbone of historical documentation, conflict, and rationality.

Why does it matter?

- The words we use and the tone that we apply to them can make or break relationships.

When we don't actively think about what we say, we lose fragments of self-awareness

that are key to all of our relationships. The words that we speak, read, and expose

ourselves to affect our personal vibrations and drastically alter our actions.

How Do You Talk to Others About Yourself?

- Take some time to evaluate what you're projecting and how it might impact you on an

internal level. Do you recognize and appreciate your own efforts? If not, it's time to

understand why that is. Otherwise, it becomes yet another barrier between you and

your long term goals.

How Do You Talk to Yourself About Yourself?

- The constant narrative in your head holds immense power. What are you thinking

about and what language do you use when you talk to yourself ABOUT yourself? Your

mind is powerful enough to make or break your self-image. No one will ever believe in

you and your ideas more than you do don't let yourself down!
